Introduction to T.R.E.E. Initiative and Its Purpose
Who we are:
The Rural Environmental Empowerment Initiative (T.R.E.E. Initiative) is a Nigerian registered not-for-profit, non-governmental and non-political volunteer based organization actively committed to climate related engagements. Our thematic areas of focus include climate change education, tree planting (afforestation, reforestation and agroforestry), food security (and agriculture) biodiversity and sustainable livelihood.
As part of our climate advocacy, T.R.E.E. Initiative have been promoting interventions particularly as regards climate change education in schools; the protection of the environment from degradation and deforestation; carbon sequestration via massive tree planting projects across the country; food security via the introduction of new farm inputs and equipment to farmers; promotion of climate smart agriculture among rural smallholder farmers clusters and promoting strategies that can sustain economic livelihood in communities across Nigeria.
